our
BELIEFS
-
We believe that scripture is the divine and authoritative Word of God. It is given to us to teach us how to live, reveal to us who Jesus is, and show us the path to eternal life.
(2 Tim. 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Hebrews 4:12)
-
We believe that Jesus Christ is the physical manifestation of the invisible God. In him dwells the fulness of the Godhead, and he has revealed himself to us as the Father in creation, the Son in redemption, and the Holy Spirit in regeneration.
(Deut. 6:4, Isaiah 9:6, Colossians 2:9, 1 Timothy 3:16)
-
We believe the scripture that all have sinned and that all are in need of salvation through Jesus Christ. Salvation is found by the grace of God through faith and is expressed by obedience to the Gospel message. Jesus tells us in John 3 that you must be born again of the water and of the Spirit.
(Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, John 3:3-5, Titus 3:5)
-
We believe the Gospel message is the good news that God came into the world through the man Jesus, was crucified, buried, and rose again after 3 days. Through his sacrifice, Jesus provided redemption and victory over sin and death. We obey the Gospel in our own lives through repentance from dead works, baptism in the saving name of Jesus, and the infilling of the gift of the Holy Ghost with the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues.
(1 Cor. 15:1-4, Romans 6:3-5, Acts 2:38, Luke 24: 46-47)
-
We believe Christian living is a daily commitment to follow Jesus Christ in holiness, love, and obedience to the Word of God. Through the power of the Holy Ghost, believers are called to reflect the character of Christ in their attitudes, actions, and lifestyle. We are called to live separated from sin and this world and live consecrated and devoted lives to God.
(Romans 12:1-2, 2 Cor. 7:2, 1 Peter 1:15-16)
